AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GOODLAND KS
1054 PM MST WED FEB 15 2012

.SHORT TERM (TONIGHT-SATURDAY)...
200 PM MST WED FEB 15 2012

TONIGHT...SUBSIDENCE WILL DOMINATE TONIGHT BEHIND THE EXITING
SHORTWAVE. CONSEQUENTLY POPS WILL BE NIL. THERE WILL BE SOME
INCREASE IN HIGH CLOUDS OVERNIGHT BUT SHOULD DO LITTLE TO HELP
KEEP MIN TEMPERATURES FROM DROPPING INTO THE TEENS. /FS

THE REMAINDER OF THE SHORT TERM PERIOD WILL BE QUIET. ONE STORM
SYSTEM WILL PASS FAR TO THE SOUTH AT THE END OF THE WEEK FOLLOWED
BY AN UPPER RIDGE. TEMPERATURES WILL BE NEAR NORMAL WITH NO
PRECIPITATION EXPECTED. /024

.LONG TERM (SUNDAY-WEDNESDAY)...
200 PM MST WED FEB 15 2012

CONCERN THIS PERIOD IS FOR THE SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY PERIOD
WITH THE NEXT SYSTEM COMING OUT OF THE WEST. MODEL SOLUTIONS ARE
IN VERY POOR AGREEMENT AT THIS POINT. GIVEN RECENT POOR
PERFORMANCES OF THE MODELS...AND REALLY ALL WINTER...DO NOT WANT
TO GET TOO CARRIED AWAY AND WILL ONLY MENTION CHANCE POPS. DETAILS
WILL BECOME CLEARER AFTER THE SYSTEM COMES ON SHORE LATER THIS
WEEK OR EARLY IN THE WEEKEND. OTHERWISE...TEMPERATURES WILL BE
NEAR TO SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL. /024

.AVIATION...(FOR THE 06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z THURSDAY NIGHT)
ISSUED AT 1052 PM MST WED FEB 15 2012

VFR CONDITIONS THROUGH THE PERIOD WITH LIGHT WESTERLY WINDS. A FEW
MID LEVEL CLOUDS WILL MOVE ACROSS THE REGION AFTER 08Z WITH
CLEARING AGAIN BY 18Z.

.GLD WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
CO...NONE.
KS...NONE.
NE...NONE.
