AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPOKANE WA
956 PM PST Wed Feb 15 2012

.SYNOPSIS...Skies will be mainly clear tonight as high pressure
settles over the Inland Northwest. A weak low pressure system will
move into British Columbia on Thursday bringing the potential for
light snow to the Cascades, Northeast Washington and North Idaho.
A stronger weather system will pass through the region Friday
night and Saturday bringing widespread rain and snow to the
valleys and snow to the mountains. The active weather pattern is
expected to continue into early next week.

.DISCUSSION...Updated forecast to lower some of the forecast
temperatures based on current observation trends in temperature
and dewpoint. Minor mention of fog and Stratus remains in portions
of the forecast for tonight that are followed by a minor shortwave
dropping down in a northwest to southeast path resulting in the
mention of low chance pops and light precipitation amounts for
Thursday into Thursday night. /Pelatti

.AVIATION...
06Z TAFs: General high pressure in the area will still allow for
the potential for fog and low cloud formation overnight into
Thursday morning. Additionally a weather disturbance dropping down
in a northwest to southeast trajectory over the aviation area will
bring light rain and snow starting near 18Z Thursday that lingers
on past 6Z Friday over parts of North Idaho. The stratus and low
cloud ceilings and visibilities may be IFR with Precipitation
generated ceilings and visibilities mainly in the MVFR range. /Pelatti
